Magnetic Microspheres – Paramagnetic

| Categories: Magnetic Microspheres, Microsphere Basics

Paramagnetism is a form of magnetism that occurs only in the presence of an externally applied magnetic field. Paramagnetic materials are attracted to magnetic fields and hence have a relative magnetic permeability of ?1 (a positive magnetic susceptibility).

Microspheres Online:

Microspheres Online is a digital database and a compilation of technical resources on microspheres and precision spherical particles. The resources are compiled and maintained by Cospheric LLC - the leading manufacturer and global supplier of precision spherical particles based in Santa Barbara, CA, USA.

The intention for this resource is to provide a service to the scientific community word-wide enabling breakthroughs in science and technology.

What are Microspheres?

Microspheres are spherical particles on the micro scale (between 1micron and 1000micron (1mm) in diameter). Spherical particles below 1micron we consider to be nanoscale and therefore call them nanospheres. Spheres over 1mm in diameter are simply called spheres, beads, or balls.

Microspheres are solid, meaning they might be completely solid throughout or they might have a solid wall (shell).
